"We give equal attention to our spirit, our emotions, our mind, and our body.  This is what being holistic is all about.  It is the bright and the beautiful, the great and the small.  The everything, the all.  Is is the glory of life.  Let us experience it."
-Lynn Wiese Sneyd - Holistic Parenting

"Just as a tree grows best when anchored firmly in the earth, so can a pregnant mother feel strong and capable when supported by a sisterhood of nurturing friends."
                                                                                                                    April Lussier

If we hope to create
a non-violent world
where respect and kindness
replace fear and hatred,
we must begin
with how we treat each other
at the beginning of life.
For that is where
our deepest patterns are set.
From these roots
grow fear and alienation
or love and trust.

Pledge to my children

I will anticipate your birth, your childhood, and you or life and encourage you to look forward too.

I will watch you flourish and discover your home in this magnificent world.

I will nurture your innocence and never forget the sacred place it comes from.

I will show you the way of wonder and walk along beside you.

I will stand for you as a parent and a friend, valuing your dreams just as I value my own.

I will voice my feelings honestly and honor the promises I make.

I will listen to you thoughtfully and give you the freedom to expand your own mind.

I will envision your happy future, always mindful of the precious, present moment.

I will embrace you and enjoy you with my heart open wide.

Mother’s Nature:  Timeless Wisdeom for the Journey Into Motherhood
A.Gosline, L. Bossi M. Beanland 1999

Why I Want To Be A Mother

To  participate in

the mysteries of mother nature.

To celebrate the love between

my partner and myself.

To be immortal.

To have an adventure.

To grow a family.

To be creative.

To prove that I am healthy.

To carry on the family

traditions.

To journey back  in time

to the world of my childhood.

To laugh out loud.

To give my children

a sister or a brother.

To enlarge my capacity

to bond and love.

To learn the art of surrender.

To open my heart.

- Andrea Alban Gosline

Clan Mother Wisdom

In the tradition of my two Kiowa’s Grandmother Teachers, each moon has a Clan Mother who is the Keeper of the rites of Passage that mark human growth cycles.  These clan Mothers off wisdom and Practical daily rituals that allow us to remain in blance during the best and worst of times.  These are the thirteen daily guidelines that I would like to share:

Focus on positive, happy thoughts.

Be kind and merciful with yourself and all living things.

Be good to your body.

Follow your heart and honor your inner knowing.

Quiet your mind.

Cherish every act in life as an expression of your creativity.

Let go of stress and tension.

Drop all judgements.

Be grateful.

Breathe deeply.

Connect with the earth.

Allow, allow, allow.
Savor the art of being.

(This is a blessing given to Lara from her midwife Karen Baker)

Cherokee Prayer Blessing

May the Warm Winds of Heaven

Blow softly upon your house.

May the Great Spirit
Bless all who enter there.

May your Moccasins

Make happy tracks

In many snows,

And may the Rainbow

Always touch your shoulder.
